New York friends: Two weeks till we return to the Big Quiz Thing's current Manhattan home base, SubCulture. For those who've yet to visit (we've been there on and off since last summer), SubCulture is a stunning, coolly modern showroom (their main beat is contemporary classical music, as glowingly profiled in The New Yorker), shockingly conveniently located at the corner of Lafayette and Bleecker Streets. Fantastic bar, sweet sight lines, sweet vibe. Come on down and up your trivia-playing experience, geniuses.
This will be our first "regular" NYC show in some time (following Oscars, Muppets, and music quizzes), with our anything-but-regular format: five rounds of the world's greatest multimedia trivia on all subjects, including the Lightning Round, Smart-Ass Points, the Text Message Challenge, and more. Our video puzzle will be "Movies of the World Unite"—combining knowledge of movies and geography—and the audio round is…well, let's just say I ran into a snag with my original plan, so the topic is TBD (but still awesome, of course).
Let's talk about prizes then. As always with our monthly show, you get the biggest quiz cash prize haul anywhere in NYC: $200 jackpot, with $100 for first place, $50 for second, $25 for third, and—because we love the top of the bell curve—$25 for tenth. Plus, copious goodies from our looong list of ace prize partners: Returning sponsors The Brooklyn Botanic Garden (free passes just in time for the glorious weather); tickets to Off Broadway's inevitable-tastic 50 Shades! The Musical; passes to scavenger hunts with the BQT's pals in expert teambuilding entertainment, Pogo Events; and SubCulture itself, kicking in free tix to future shows. #Winning.
Tomorrow, in this space: All about the new sponsors joining us for this edition. Already sold? Buy your tickets pronto.
