NYC Big FAMILY Quiz Thing: Prize update!

We're just six days away, New York kids (and older folks): the second ever Big Family Quiz Thing, an afternoon of multimedia game show action for geeks of all ages, Sunday, January 26 at SubCulture in Manhattan's East Village. A fully interactive team quiz (recommended for ages 7 and up, but all are welcome), presented in association with Time Out New York Kids—and, hey, there's even a face-painting station! Tickets are going fast…

And yes, yes, yes…prizes! As at our last BFQT, the kid(s) on the winning team will be featured in an article on Time Out Kids' website! (Here's the Q&A with last year's junior genius, Alex, pictured above at far left—you can tell by the massive brain.) But there's way, way more for the winners and other teams, including a bunch of free subscriptions to TOK's print magazine.

Plenty more good stuff on tap. One of the favorite prize partners of the adults-only BQT in recent months—Milk & Cookies Bakery—steps up to the plate. A big basket of tasty goodies (milk, cookies, and somehow more) will go to one lucky squad, along with sundry other sweet stuff for other teams. Also kicking in: One of NYC's finest institutions for family fun—the Children's Museum of Manhattan.

Located on an assuming block of 83rd Street on the Upper West Side is a world-class institution for all of New York's young people, featuring innovative events and interactive exhibits. I've always loved children's museums, partly because there's inevitably so much to do and see. (As opposed to grown-up museums, where it's normally all about things to just see.) Among the current exhibits: "You Make the Call: Learn to Be a NFL Official" (never too early for job-training, kids) and "Björk's Biophilia," a series of musical workshops by created in association with your favorite Icelandic musician/endearing art weirdo.

 I mean, shouldn't learning be fun?
