I mean, seriously? Almost December? This is brutal, friends. But fear not, because December means all those fun year-end summations that everyone loves/tolerates. And this year, the BQT is getting in on the act, as we present a very special 2013 Flashback Trivia-O-Rama. We're crossing the river again to our favorite Brooklyn hang, Littlefield, on Tuesday, December 10, for an evening of our trademark high-octane multimedia trivia fun, all about the year that just was: two thousand thir-friggin'-teen.
We were so young back then…
Ah, 2013. Remember, kids? A new pope! Edward Snowden! Protests in Egypt! A whole ton of movie sequels! Prince George! Miley Cyrus twerking! Some depressing stuff we won't be asking questions about! The specific plans for the show contentwise are still swirling around in my brain—I mean, at the rate this year is going, who knows what trivia-worthy happenings will happen between now and 12/10. But one thing I can promise (other than awesomeness) is the return of one of our favorite annual puzzles, "The Year in Manipulative Movie Trailers." The audio round theme is TBD, but yeah, we're probably going to lean on the year in new music, so brace yourselves, oldsters. Plus the Lightning Round, plus the Text Message Challenge, plus the buzzertastic finale, plus the greatest trivia questions anywhere, plus another pre-quiz episode of the Big Quiz Thing TV show (the true highlight of this year, of course), plus some between-round screenings of the year's top viral videos, plus, plus, plus.
Now you want to watch it again, don't you?
Plus prizes. It might be moving to Vegas, but New Yorkers still have a little time to catch Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark on Broadway…and a couple members of the winning team will get to do just that, for free. (I'll say it again: Definitely entertaining. Wouldn't call it great theater, but mucho fun for a Web-head like me.) We also have some passes to my new favorite Off Broadway show, Disaster! The Musical, plus a few to another returning theatrical sponsor, The Accidental Pervert. Tack on our old friends Pogo Events (primo scavenger hunts), On Location Tours (movie- and TV-inspired jaunts), the Skate Truck NYC (yes, even in winter), and some future quality events at Littlefield—plus our usual grab bag of fun books, DVDs, what have you, and more prize partners on the way—and we say it again: Nobody beats the Big Quiz Thing in the live-trivia-prizes department.
