Returning to the prize roster from last June's Tenth Anniversary Quiz Show Marathon: The fine terraNOVA Collective arts organization presents its tenth annual soloNOVA Arts Festival!

Because if you're not delighting in adventurous theater, you are not a true New Yorker. From May 22 to June 11, the soloNOVA Arts Festival presents the best in emerging one-person-show stage talent: "3 Venues. 29 Performances. 3 Weeks." As part of Monday's prize haul, we have various passes to various events during the fest. Some highlights…

The supremely multitalented Bill Bowers, one of the handful of people out there who prove the art of mime doesn't have to make you thrust sharpened pencils into your brain, reprises his acclaimed Beyond Words ("fascinating and affecting," says The New York Times). A multidisciplinary montage of small-town America, Beyond Words is a true tour de force of physical storytelling. May 22 (8pm) and May 25 (2pm) at the Barrow Street Theatre.

Jeanne Sakata's Hold These Truths tells the true story of a Japanese-American battling the government's unjust mass incarceration during World War II—a topic that is still sadly underrecognized in our nation's patchwork history. A 2013 nominee for the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Solo Performance, Hold These Truths is performed by Joel de la Fuente, June 4, 10, and 11 (7pm), at the Culture Project.

Plus, we're getting some lucky quizgoers into other soloNOVA happenings: the story of a right-winger disillusioned by the U.S.'s ass-backwards health-care system; a meta-licious production called How to Do a One Person Show; something fetchingly though mathematically confusingly described as "1/2 concert, 1/3 dance party, 1/3 playtime, 1/3 you're not gonna stay in your seats"; and more.
