As I boldly predicted, 2013 is indeed shaping to be a fun one for us. And so far, nothing's been more fun than our first Big Family Quiz Thing, last Sunday at our Marathon turf of 92YTribeca. A packed house of happy kids and happy grown-ups took part in a modified-format BQT (five-question rounds!) of youngster-friendly quiz delights.
I'm farming out the recapping to our primary sponsors, Time Out New York Kids, who ran an excellent slide show this afternoon, along with a quick Q&A with the big winner, ten-year-old Alex. (My take on it: Alex is 12 years away from being that guy who shows up in the Three Way Finale more often than not, I guarantee you.)
Big thanks to our excellent prize sponsors: Rogers & Hammerstein's Cinderella on Brodway, Gazillion Bubble Show, Tribeca Treats, Shakespeare & Co. Booksellers,
The Children's Place, On Location Tours, and, of course, Time Out New York Kids and 92YTribeca.
The slide show is here; all about big winner Alex is here. And the big question: Will we be doing it again? We were happy, 92YTribeca was happy, Time Out Kids was happy, and the audience seemed pretty happy, so all signs point to yes. (We're also considering doing a Boston edition, though suggestions for a media partner like Time Out Kids would be appreciated.) The Big Quiz Thing: Strengthening family values!
