NYC prize sponsor: A double shot of Off Broadway love

Our monthly stand at Littlefield in Brooklyn continues, friends (as we plan our long-awaited return to Manhattan, of course). We're back there this Monday, the 9th, with tons o' quizzy fun, and a slight political bent, seeing as how this will be our last public NYC show before the President gives Mittens a right righteous spanking on November 6 (if you don't count our second annual Comic Con quiz, and I don't). Yeah, I'm a lefty, big shocker there.

And as usual, we got the best prizes of any quiz event in New York, by only about a million miles. The grand jackpot of $200, of course. Some more cash for other finishers. Another fabulous DVD box set for the night's top tweeter (this is a sweet one, I guarantee you). As they've been for months now,  Brooklyn Brewery and the Brooklyn Museum remain wonderfully on board. Plus, a pretty exciting surprise details TBD.

But we got some particularly excellent theater tickets in the stash. First… The Other Josh Cohen.

This musical is billed as "One Man's Battle with Money, Heartache and Neil Diamond," which describes a bunch of people I've known in my life (and I've probably known more than a few guys named "Josh Cohen"). From TheOtherJoshCohen.com…

Whew! Now playing at Second Stage Theatre (one of the many beloved sponsors from our Tenth Anniversary Marathon), it's "in the spirit of Dr. Strangelove," and not just because of that title. It's a dark comedy about a group of morally conflicted, somewhat hapless bombers attempted to blow up the Empire State Building, and how they attempt to reconcile their mission with all the nonsense most of us deal with on a regular basis. Directed by Jon Kern and directed by Peter DuBois, it's now playing at the Second Stage; get tickets here or, yes indeedy, win them on Tuesday.
