Beware the glowing eyes; I believe they're about to feed.
The official report from Dan the man…
The winning team was Gettin' Vajiggie Jaggie Wit It, which is a group from Pepperdine University that always comes, always finishes in the top three, but has not won in a while. They beat out Trivia Newton-John, which won in July. In third place was newcomers the Desert Warriors, who had a great time and also took home the two free BQT vouchers for being the top-scoring new team. The finale came down to a three-way tie (!) and was won by Vajiggie Jaggie for knowing all about the Scoville scale.
Lots of bad Jews not observing Rosh Hashanah in attendance, including a team appropriately named 3 Bad Jews. Also, apparently not many Mitt Romney fans in the audience (no, really?): When going over the answers for the Lightning Round, I repeated Question 10: "Not counting primaries, how many elections has Mitt Romney lost in his political career?' That would be "one." [Polite applause] And then I added, "Until…November 6... (HUGE BURST OF APPLAUSE AND CHEERING)." Being political, I liked that.
Thanks to Mystery Trip L.A. last night for being our very special sponsors, and thanks to the fresh-out-of-the-box Time Out Los Angeles for spotlighting us (hopefully the first of multiple times). We're at Busby's every month, the third Sunday, 7pm (October 21 is next). Rock out with your cerebellum out.
