Always trying something new, the Big Quiz Thing has a brand-new policy, which we'll debut at this Monday's Boston quiz: Happy birthday, geniuses!
If you are just that awesome enough to choose to spend your special day (i.e., your birthday) with the BQT, your team gets an extra point. Simple as that. In some of those tight games, a single point could make all the difference in the world, so thank your mama for not holding it in too long.
And hey, to keep it more interesting, how about this: It doesn't even have to be your actual birthday—it can be your half birthday! An even six months after your DOB works just as well, why not.
—It has to be your actual (half)birthday. That exact day. One day away and no dice.
—Gotta show us proof; government-issued photo ID should do the trick. Call it the Pennsylvania Rule.
—"Half birthday" is defined as six months away on the calendar. Which means yes, some people don't have a half birthday. ('Cause there ain't no February 30, for example.) Too bad.
—Want to bring eight people who share that (half)birthday? Great! You get eight bonus points!
Seriously on the last one, as unlikely as that is, since the reason we're doing this is to attract new and different people to the shows (full disclosure). So yes, absolutely, scour your Facebook friends list and invite the (half)birthday boys and girls to join your team. You—and more importantly they—will not regret it.
