Boston prize sponsor: The Comedy Studio

Monday we're back in Boston, at the ever-fantabulous Oberon in Harvard Square, and like last time, the list of prize sponsors is mad impressive. (Does that meaning of mad work with impressive? Well, now it does. I so decree.) Cambridge's favorite stand-up club, the Studio holds it down for the Boston comedy scene, with nationally touring comics on a nightly basis (and all your favorite Chinese food, courtesy the legendary Hong Kong restaurant/nightclub, right downstairs). It has a special place in my heart—no, I never played there during my bygone stand-up career (I played NYC only, as a "city comic," or less charitably, "a bad comic"). Rather, former Boston BQT sidekick B-Cutie Katie once waitressed there, back when we were more than just professional partners. So I enjoyed an evening of comedy there more than once, and even got a shout-out from one of the comics when I laughed like a horse at his extended joke comparing Metallica to Ronald Reagan (trust me, it worked, even if no one else in the room thought so). Looking at the Studio's schedule, they even have magic certain nights of the week, which is should really be mandatory for any stand-up club.
