Hey-o! Our Los Angeles residency continues in nine days, starring the West Coast version of Quizmaster Noah, Mr. Daniel Halden, at the fantabulous (and, for L.A., amazingly conveniently located) Busby's East. All the world-class multimedia quiz delights that the BQT is famous for, yet in the American promised land.
Before we go any further, we're doing a preshow contest: We're giving away tickets to the show. Starting this Monday, every day we'll tweet an L.A.-centric question. Be the first person to tweet back the right answer, and you win a ticket to the show, Sunday, June 17 at 7:30pm. Step one: Follow us on Twitter.
And on top of that, we have major prizes at the show proper. (But of course.) The winning team receives a juicy pile of money!!!
And plenty more: We've been racking up some fantastic Left Coast sponsors, but perhaps none more fantastic than the Laugh Factory…
One of the country's—nay, the world's—most famous (and notorious) stand-up comedy clubs, the Laugh Factory is where comedy dreams and nightmares come true. They simply don't get more prestigious than this place; the list of famous alumni is mind-boggling, and hey—in 2010, it set a world record for longest continuous stand-up comedy show! (Considerably longer than our earth-shattering Quiz Marathon, it must be said.) If you detect a tinge of jealousy on my part…well, then, that makes sense. I wrote in this space not long ago about my aborted career in stand-up comedy, and no, I never made it to the heights of the Factory. But being able to give away tickets to it at a quiz show is a nice consolation prize.
We have a passel of tickets for a top-scoring team at the next L.A. BQT, compounding the show's entertainment value. The Laugh Factory is at 8001 Sunset Boulevard, near Fairfax, in Hollywood; shows happen seven nights a week, and you can check out some of their featured comics on that ol' YouTube. Learn more at laughfactory.com or facebook.com/laughfactory.
