Ladies' Night prizes: Books!

So as part of the massive prize haul at Tuesday's Ladies' Night, we have the $300 cash jackpot, of course, and two tickets to Nolcha Fashion Week. And tons more. Including books, books, we got plenty o' books. Because women love to read.

So swears the marketing copy, and who am I—a heterosexual man—to disagree?

They sent me multiple copies of two fine volumes: The Choice Effect: Love and Commitment in an Age of Too Many Options, which doesn't strike me as an exclusively female problem, though I understand that gender definite plays into the specifics. Plus, I really like the cover of this one—I've been that person, unsure of which Popsicle flavor is best suited for my current mood.

And then there's Getting Off: A Woman's Guide to Masturbation, written by onetime BQT player Jayme Waxman, which I'm not even going to take the bait on. (Come to think of it, my description for The Choice Effect might apply to this one as well.) We got beaucoup copies of both, for you to win Tuesday night.

I also got a big box from HarperCollins, featuring various fem-centric titles: The Burlesque Handbook by Headmistress Jo Weldon, which is something we're all gonna need if our society keeps going the way it is. You know my admiration for the burlesque art: The BQT started, of course, at the Slipper Room, NYC's ground zero of the tassels-and-pasties art. And Jo "Boobs" Weldon is one of the best. So, you know, this is recommended.

Then there's The Official Booty Parlor Mojo Makeover: Four Weeks to a Sexier You, which has to be worth reading for the title alone. I know, some of you may be rolling your eyes, but they mean it when they say mojo; this isn't purely a physical makeover. I mean, hell, the first word on the back-cover copy is confidence. Yet another book I should read despite my possession of a penis.
